The Last Mile team within Amazon Logistics is looking for an experienced Sr. Deployment Manager to coordinate Amazon Logistics vehicle delivery and defleeting operations in Europe. The Fleet program within Last Mile organization is a highly visible program (internally and externally with our customers alongside a variety of stakeholders – suppliers, delivery service providers, local authorities).
Key job responsibilities
The Sr. Deployment Manager, will be responsible for coordinating the deployment and defleetings of the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) fleet to our delivery service partners across Europe, for both branded fleet and rental programs according to seasonality. This is a pan-European role. You will liaise with senior stakeholders from our partner fleet management companies and rental providers to ensure the timely and effective deployment and collection of those vehicles. You need to be comfortable handling highly complex relationships with external stakeholders and coordinating multiple internal Amazon teams (fleet scheduling, EU central operations, regional fleet management, delivery service provider management teams) to achieve your goals. Within our Fleet Delivery and Redeployment team, you will receive support from process improvement managers who will define processes in accordance with you. An ideal candidate will be analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, team oriented, and will have an ability to work with limited supervision under time constraints to meet deadlines. The candidate will have proven experience in taking on end-to-end ownership, fleet management, supply chain in the automotive industry (ideally with LCV) and effectively delivering results in an ever-growing and progressive business environment.
A day in the life
Some of the key job functions of the Senior Deployment Manager are:
• Responsible for ensuring bar raising deployment and defleeting experience for Amazon's delivery service providers (DSPs)
• Is capable of taking accountability and directing planning, resolution and execution.
• Can autonomously develop and align standards to deploy vehicles on-time and to specification, while accounting for the flexibility needs of our fleet operations teams.
• Is comfortable being agile with supply chain partners on timelines, quality of service and other potential bottlenecks.
• Responsible for defining and delivering the key metrics – program performance, program growth, on-time execution and quality assurance. Including the ability to aggregate information and to present key information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Solid ownership and bias for action; ability to internalize goals and work with limited supervision to create appropriate action plans for those goals.
• Great analytical orientation; comfortable using databases and analytical tools and making data driven decisions.
• Think out of the box solutions and implement innovative ideas to improve delivery experience and deployment flexibility to align with Last Mile needs.
About the team
The Fleet Delivery and Redeployment team is one of the six Fleet Procurement and Capacity teams within EU Global Fleet & Products (GFP). We are responsible for the physical supply chain of all fleet programs (branded vans & cargo bikes, rentals). Our north star is to build a lean and unified supply chain for fleet programs, with standardized processes and communications, for efficient and agile deployment, defleeting and redeployment operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Solid experience handling complex programs. Ideally in the automotive sector, in the areas of fleet management, supply chain in fleet or related fields.
• Experience in aggregating information and communicating effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
• Comfortable with communicating and liaising with senior leadership
• Fluent written and verbal english
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • MBA or Masters in engineering
• Proven ability to organize complex supply chain programs with multiple internal and external actors.
• A record of accomplishment in delivering results in a scrappy, ever-growing environment.
• A history of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
• Fluency in one or more European languages (specifically: German) will be a plus
